My final piece for Leeds College of Art.
Here, I really wanted to get loadss of texture in, so I painted a lot of paper and then cut it all up into shapes, then scanned it in and made even more shapes and patterns out of it in After Effects.
I then combined them with footage I had collected to create this very abstract piece.
I also got to perform this live with Calls, which was very exciting.
A little while ago we had our final year exhibition. For this, with the help of many other people’s hands, I built a small room and then constructed some shapes inside, got myself a projector and arranged my animation from above to be mapped out, using Mad Mapper, onto the shapes like this…
…a slightly dodgy recording of the projections, but this was what was dancing away inside the room.
It was quite stressful but a lot of fun to make and I love the music by the Calls, so it was all good.
One of the recent animated clips I made for the Leeds Lock In - Bruce Lee style.
About a month ago, I started working with the people from an event in Leeds called the Leeds Lock-In. It is a very fun night full of an array of eclectic performers and entertainment.
I was asked to make visuals with the theme of the night included. Last month, the theme was Vincent Price, so I got working on making him look freaky so he could be projected behind the performers.
It’s a really good old fun night and if you’re interested in seeing what I can do with visuals (and if you’re in Leeds), please come to the next one. Bruce Lee will be making an appearance.
Animated video for the beautiful sounds of Umber for his song ‘Sunshine Young’.
I worked with the talented Katie Payne with her clay making and stop motion skills, where she magically brought the fish to life.
More of Umber’s music can be heard here
A short animation of birds singing their song I made for a uni project.
Showreel of the things I got up to in 2012.
